What You Must Know About God- Prof. Daddy Hezekiah (MFR, JP)
Dear All, I have the honor of sharing the Christmas and New Year Message of His Grace, The Most Rev. Prof. Daddy Hezekiah (MFR, JP). He is the Founder and Leader of Living Christ Mission Inc. and the Proprietor/Chancellor, Hezekiah University, Umudi, Imo State, the first and only Private University in Imo State. Kindly read on.
CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR MESSAGE
May I humbly and sincerely bring to you the season’s greetings in the name of God Almighty the Father, His Son our Lord, Redeemer and Saviour Jesus Christ and His Messenger, the Holy Spirit. Please my dear friend, join me to rejoice and greatly thank/praise God because through His love, power and grace we are alive to see this Christmas season, even though this year is filled with many uncertainties, hardship, oppression, hunger, suffering, sicknesses, injustice, persecution, shedding of innocent blood, kidnappings, PERVERSION of justice, temptation, armed robberies and evil events. In our country, there are many dangerous things including bad roads that claimed people’s lives. To be sincere, our only happiness this year is that we are still alive because the Most High God, Our Creator, loves us and is still on the Throne and will remain on it to rule forever and ever. To say the truth, many of us feel consoled, happy and have hope for a better future whenever we remember that God Almighty is excellently faithful, exists, protects and cares for us.
January 1, 2019, I declared that this was a year pregnant with many uncertainties and urged children of God to take note of the book of Psalm chapter 91 as a condition precedent to survive this year and live secure. Furthermore, Deuteronomy 30:11-18 is a mirror with which we can examine our life this past one year thus; “For this commandment which I command you this day is not too hard for you, neither is it far off. It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will go up for us to heaven, and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, Who will go over the sea for us, and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ But the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you can do it. “See, I have set before you this day life and good, death and evil. If you obey the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you this day, by loving the LORD your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his ordinances, then you shall live and multiply, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land which you are entering to take possession of it. But if your heart turns away, and you will not hear, but are drawn away to worship other gods and serve them, I declare to you this day, that you shall perish; you shall not live long in the land which you are going over the Jordan to enter and possess”.
A proper examination of our lives with the above extract from the Bible is a clear testimony that we do not deserve the life God has given us, as well as the security we enjoyed this year, but grace brought us this far. Hence, no matter whatever challenges you may have passed through or the temptations or harsh conditions you think you encountered this year, the fact that God kept you alive is enough reason to be grateful to God; because once there is life, there is hope. Therefore, I wish you a happy survival and Merry Christmas in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen.
IMPORTANCE OF CHRISTMAS
Christmas is a time for thanksgiving, faithfully worshipping God and showing him great reverence and appreciation because He (God) sent to us His Only Son Jesus Christ to give us salvation and life in abundance. May I appeal to everyone who believes that God created them not to insult God and His Son Jesus Christ because Jesus Christ did not come to the world to enjoy Himself but to suffer for us. “He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that made us whole, and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all” (Isaiah 53:3-6).
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep”. “For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again” (John 10:10-11,17).
“The true light that enlightens every man was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world knew him not. He came to his own home, and his own people received him not. But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God; who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1:9-13).
WHAT DOES GOD REQUIRE OF US
God loves man so much hence, He is not happy when a sinner or the wicked dies, “Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, says the Lord GOD, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?” (Ezekiel 18 23). That is, death without true repentance pains God because hell was not originally prepared for man but for the Devil and his angels including demons. “Then he will say to those at his left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41).
God does not need our money, riches or wealth. He only needs us to be saved in order to live very happily with Him forever and ever. “And now, children of God, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments and statutes of the LORD, which I command you this day for your good?” (Deuteronomy 10:12-13)
“Thus says the LORD: “Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool; what is the house which you would build for me, and what is the place of my rest? All these things my hand has made, and so all these things are mine, says the LORD. But this is the man to whom I will look, he that is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word. “He who slaughters an ox is like him who kills a man; he who sacrifices a lamb, like him who breaks a dog’s neck; he who presents a cereal offering, like him who offers swine’s blood; He who makes a memorial offering of frankincense, like him who blesses an idol. These have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations;” (Isaiah 66:1-3)
“Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness; put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River, and in Egypt, and serve the LORD” (Joshua 24:14)
“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for such the Father seeks to worship him” (John 4:23)
“If I were hungry, I would not tell you; for the world and all that is in it is mine. Do I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats? Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and pay your vows to the Most High; and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me” (Psalm 50:12-15).
WHAT WE MUST KNOW ABOUT GOD
“But Joshua said to the people, “You cannot serve the LORD; for he is a holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions or your sins. If you forsake the LORD and serve foreign gods, then he will turn and do you harm, and consume you, after having done you good” (Joshua 24:19-20)
“The LORD is with you, while you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you” (2 Chronicles 15:2).
WHAT TO DO TO SUCCEED IN LIFE AND IN THE FUTURE
“Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will let you dwell in this place. Do not trust in these deceptive words: ‘This is the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD, the temple of the LORD’. “For if you truly amend your ways and your doings, if you truly execute justice one with another, if you do not oppress the alien, the fatherless or the widow, or shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not go after other gods to your own hurt, then I will let you dwell in this place, in the land that I gave of old to your fathers forever” (Jeremiah 7:3-7).
“If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; But if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken”. (Isaiah 1:19-20)
“Be careful to heed all these words which I command you, that it may go well with you and with your children after you forever, when you do what is good and right in the sight of the LORD your God” (Deuteronomy 12:28).
CONTINUE TO DO GOOD AND IN THE FEAR OF GOD
“Then I saw the wicked buried; they used to go in and out of the holy place, and were praised in the city where they had done such things. This also is vanity. Because sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of the sons of men is fully set to do evil. Though a sinner does evil a hundred times and prolongs his life, yet I know that it will be well with those who fear God, because they fear before him; but it will not be well with the wicked, neither will he prolong his days like a shadow, because he does not fear before God” (Ecclesiastes 8:10-13)
“Let not your heart envy sinners, but continue in the fear of the LORD all the day. Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off.” (Proverbs 23:17-18)
“Be not envious of evil men, nor desire to be with them; for their minds devise violence, and their lips talk of mischief. Fret not yourself because of evildoers, and be not envious of the wicked; for the evil man has no future; the lamp of the wicked will be put out” (Proverbs 24: 1-2, 19-20)
“Fret not yourself because of the wicked, be not envious of wrongdoers! For they will soon fade like the grass, and wither like the green herb. Trust in the LORD, and do good; so you will dwell in the land, and enjoy security. Take delight in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:1-4).
THE NEED TO DRAW CLOSER TO GOD
If we observe very well, we will notice that situations keep changing every year, with insecurity, hard times, hardship, evil people with very bad intentions increasing by the day. In view of the above, it becomes very imperative that we should draw closer to the Almighty God with all our hearts as perfect protection and life are in his hands alone. All the people who had put their trust and hope in man and the devil in the past were woefully disappointed. People who put their trust in riches have also been disappointed, because according to Proverbs 11:4 “Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death”. So, I appeal to you to draw closer to God with all your strength and not put your trust and hope on vain things on whose hands lies no power to protect, save or prosper. Because we are entering year 2020 which we do not know what awaits us, I humbly appeal to you to put your entire trust in God so that irrespective of what the coming year 2020, may have in stock, God will protect, preserve, guard and guide you for His namesake and Righteousness. According to Psalm 91 especially vs 14-16: “Because he cleaves to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will rescue him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, and show him my salvation”. God has the absolute power and authority to protect and deliver us so long as we cleave to him and Him alone because the Bible has warned us of the danger of not depending wholly on God or in using another thing to substitute God.
Psalm 16:4- “Those who choose another god multiply their sorrows; their libations of blood I will not pour out or take their names upon my lips”.
ADVICE TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT: The Federal Government should please remember the masses who voted them into power and do something about their condition. The roads are bad, the borders are closed, insecurity envelops every nook and cranny of the country and the economy is so bad, nothing is progressing. I doubt a future for this country with the rate at which things are going in Nigeria. The Federal Government should please open the borders to help the poor. Governors should construct roads. Security in Nigeria should be intensified to curb the proliferation of abduction and kidnapping in the country, especially at some strategic areas where it is obvious that they have made their points of attack.
The Federal Government should endeavor to checkmate goods imported from some Nations especially China so that they do not make our country their dumping ground with fake goods.
ADVICE TO THE JUDICIARY
We know the court to be the last hope of the common man; but where the judiciary system fails, the situation is as good as a state of anarchy. I, therefore, urge the judiciary system to embrace justice and truth. It should desist from glorifying corruption, election fraud, lies, injustice, perversion of justice and wickedness. It should uphold democracy, transparency, justice, equity and truth. They should not allow the masses to lose faith in them, because it will affect them. Moreover, the Bible and good people curse anyone who sees evil and calls it good. Beware of Deuteronomy 16: 19 to 20; 27:19, Proverbs 24:23 to 25, Proverbs 17:15, 18:5.
ADVICE TO THE PRESS
The pen they say is mightier than the sword. Journalism is a noble profession when practiced with the fear of God. I therefore plead with gentlemen of the press to use their profession to the glory of God by promoting truth, justice, fair play and righteousness. Avoid flattery, God hates it Proverbs 29:5, 26:22 to 28, do not scoff (Proverbs 29:8), do not rejoice at wrong or calamity (Proverbs 17:4 and 5), do not be hasty in judgement or write anything until you have diligently investigated and found out the facts (Proverbs 21:5, 25:8 and 9,) take note of passages like Proverbs 13:17, 22:11, 10:32, 24:23 to 25, 17: 15.
Our educational system is not better off, as it is saddled with incessant strikes, poor funding, cultism, high school fees among others. I want the government and all well-meaning Nigerians to realize that there is no alternative to education. When the greater majority of the populace are educated, it helps greatly in the development of the country as they will understand the workings of the government better and contribute more meaningfully towards its progress; hence, I urge the government to do more in addressing our educational system. The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) should reconsider its insistence on computer examination which not only shuts down at will but help people or candidates to pass UTME by chance or by luck.
ON HEALTH CARE
I appeal to the Federal Government to take the health care of the citizenry very seriously because a healthy populace is a productive one. I passionately plead with the government to revive the General Hospitals for the sake of the poor. As all fingers are not equal, not everyone can afford to travel abroad or patronize private hospitals. Let me also draw the attention of the government to the rate at which fake, adulterated and substandard drugs are imported into the country. These fake drugs have led to loss of lives and health complications.
VERY IMPORTANTLY, as a man of God, I advise the Igbos to seek the face of God and encourage one another to come together as one great, united and indivisible entity.
On the foreign scene, I advise the United Nations as a global body to pay more attention to the problems ravaging the world today such as hunger and starvation, Global warming etc. There are also diseases like AIDS, Cancer, Hepatitis B, Diabetes alongside other terminal diseases threatening man’s existence on earth than in the production of Nuclear weapons. Let the United Nations, know that Israel has the right to exist as a sovereign nation with its capital in Jerusalem. It should also prevail upon China to stop the exportation of fake and substandard goods to Africa and other developing nations. The United Nations as a global body should also try to maintain top-level impartiality in addressing the affairs of member nations especially when it affects Israel and other Christian countries.
ADVICE ON SOME WORLD ISSUES
My advice to Israel is that they should try as much as possible to be united; they have allowed these Arabs to infiltrate their country, a God fearing country for that matter. Will these Arabs/Islamic countries allow a Christian/Jewish party to exist in their country not to talk more of being part of their political system? For the first time in Israel, a party is dominated mostly by Arabs, this is very unhealthy and dangerous for Israel as a Godly Nation. Israel should revisit history and their experience during the holocaust. I plead with Israel to avoid factions and never give room for these Arabs and those who hate them to come in between them and disintegrate them, because it is very destructive. They will definitely lose their strength if they allow this to happen. They are not oblivious of the fact that the nations surrounding them are after their destruction. The only weapon they have after God is their unity; they should protect their unity please.
My advice to Americans is that, they should beware of the shenanigans or evil plans of the enemy to pull America down. I therefore appeal to the patriotic Americans to rise up to their responsibilities. Since the inception of President Trump’s administration, the democrats have stopped at nothing to bring him down. They have fought him through social media, witch craft, curses, impeachment, threats, witch hunting physically, spiritually and every other possible means. Since the history of America, no president has been abused like Trump, yet all he has done throughout his tenure is to fight for the good and welfare of Americans. I therefore urge Americans to stand and defend the truth. They should not allow few individuals to hold the whole nation to ransom, because of their selfish desires. If the Americans allow these people who love satanic activities to succeed, they cannot get God fearing Leaders rather they may get leaders who will make God and Godly activities to be far from them. President Trump has kept all his promises to them while he campaigned; he has created many jobs and enhanced their economy. Americans should stand with Trump, because he means well for them. I always pray for President Trump because he left his wealth as a BILLIONAIRE to become the President of the United States of America in order to make America great again not only in wealth but in good morals.
SPECIAL APPRECIATION TO GOD
May I thank the Almighty God from the depth of my heart for his mercies upon my church, Living Christ Mission Inc., Worldwide and also upon Hezekiah University, Umudi, the first and only private university in Imo State and the cheapest Private University in Nigeria. This year, the ceiling of the 75,000 Seating Capacity Temple in Onitsha was completed without any form of injury or mishap of any sort. Again, Hezekiah University besides producing its first set of graduates this year also received its Permanent Licence from the National University Commission (NUC). All these are the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes and I appreciate them very immensely.
I wish to use this opportunity to sympathise with the families who lost their loved ones to the killings in Kaduna, the crisis in South Africa, natural disasters, fire outbreaks, accidents and other means. I also sympathize with the people who lost their properties and business fortunes including houses to the recent fire outbreak in Onitsha; it was indeed a disheartening disaster. I pray to God Almighty who gives the best consolation to please console you and provide for you in Jesus name, Amen. We are in the world where anything can happen; our only consolation is God, because the enemy can destroy every other thing on earth but not your soul. The only being that has power over your soul is God, therefore embrace him and in him you have the greatest consolation, that even if you lose everything in life, you are sure that your soul will rest with God forever. May this Christmas season bring you great joy and happiness as well as God’s consolation to bear your loss in Jesus name, Amen.
MY PRAYER/GOOD WISHES FOR YOU
I joyfully thank God who took care of you this year. I pray that God will protect and be with you next year. May God not allow the evil wishes of the wicked including your enemies to be fulfilled on you. May He defend you and prove to them that if God is for you, no one can be against you(Romans 8:31). Let Him prove to them that His perfect protection is better than that of Satan, demons and charms and that with Him all things are possible. May the Most High God be your strong REFUGE/fortress and may He bless you and answer my prayers on you according to His will in Jesus name, Amen. I wish you well.
I thank my well-wishers and all men of good will who joined me in praising God on my 52nd birthday in the Lord in October. I also commend Onukogu family, good relatives and everyone including patriotic Nigerians who aspire to do the will of God. I commend those in authority who have the sufferings of the masses at heart and do one thing or the other towards alleviating their sufferings. I felicitate with my friend. Prof. Ben Nwabueze SAN, OON on his 88th birthday and wish him more years of robust health, God’s blessings and protections. May I thank the BoT, Staff and Management of Hezekiah University especially Prof. Obiekwe Nwanolue for his hard work. May I thank the people of Ishiala Umudi.
